A sequel to the much-maligned remake of an okay but almost equally silly original film… sure, why not? It’s not quite summer yet. The most anticipated movies are yet to come. Thanks to the power of lowered expectations, you too could kinda enjoy Wrath of the Titans.
Sure, the story is a ridiculously convoluted mishmash of about half a dozen Greek myths, all crammed into one mad-libs-like take on the hero’s journey, replacing the Golden Fleece with the Spear of Trium, but it’s all in good fun. We don’t really learn much about ourselves or the human condition (or Greek mythology) by watching Perseus (Sam Worthington) go on another quest to save the world.
