The Trouble with Quibbles: Star Trek Into Darkness

After the massive success of 2009′s reboot, the Enterprise and crew returns for the sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness. This time around a mysterious terrorist is attacking Starfleet and it’s up to Kirk and company to stop him without triggering an all-out war with the Klingons. I was not nearly as entertained with this new film as I was with the reboot. I brought in Trek-nerd Nathan Ayling to discuss why. SPOILERS do indeed follow.

It’s All The Deep End – “Dredd” Review

If Dredd came out when I was 12 it would have instantly become my favorite movie of all time. Dredd kicks ass and takes names for 95 lightning quick minutes. There really isn’t anything to dislike about this ultra-violent piece of slick science fiction.

Opening Weekend: Yes and No

This weekend Kristen Wiig and the rest of the bridesmaids show us that girls just wanna have fun. And director Scott Stewart, once again, leads me to question Paul Bettany’s better judgment.

The Trouble with Quibbles: Spy vs. Spy

Now that Bryan’s third kid has arrived, it might be a bit tougher for him to get out and see new releases that we can argue about. So, we’ve decided to widen our gaze and quibble about films regardless of their release date. Also, we’ll probably group them together into similar topics. For example, today we’re taking a look at two action-comedies about spies.
