As the year comes to an end, I find that I still have a long list of movies that I’ve yet to include on my Christmas list. There’s just been so much going on, that I think I’ll save the rest of my list for next Christmas. Still, the year ain’t over yet. What’s Christmas without Santa Claus? I think this is probably my only date-specific part of this list. For this collection of Santa-centric films, I’d recommend a Christmas Eve movie marathon. Gather up any kids you’ll be spending the holiday with, have them watch this collection of films to teach them the importance of being good for goodness sake a la “scared straight.” Continue reading
I don’t know about you, but when I think of Christmas one of the first things that comes to mind is film noir. Nothing says “holly jolly Christmas” like terse tough-guys and a fiery femme fatale. But, just in case you aren’t similarly inclined to equate noir with Noel, I’ve got two movies that show that crime and Christmas go together like Santa and reindeer, like tinsel and holly, like zombies and Easter.
